The RED Pelicans aren’t a traditional band. We’re not four guys in a garage jamming until our fingers bleed, or a touring group playing sweaty dive bars every night. The RED Pelicans are something different — a new kind of band, born from passion, creativity, and technology.
At the center of it all is just one person — writing lyrics pulled from real life, shaping music in FL Studio, recording raw vocals, and then working with AI tools like Suno to bring that vision to life. The final product sounds like a full band, but behind it is the voice of a single songwriter determined to share his heart with the world.
And that’s the beauty of The RED Pelicans: we’re proof that you don’t need a label, a million-dollar studio, or a whole lineup of musicians to create something powerful. You just need honesty, vision, and the courage to use the tools of today to express yourself.
The Songwriting Process (How It Really Works)
Here’s the truth: The RED Pelicans aren’t a traditional four-piece in a rehearsal room. Every track is built piece by piece by a single songwriter — fueled by passion, persistence, and the tools of today.
Lyrics First
Every song starts with words or a melody that births them. Real experiences, frustrations, joys, and world events spill onto the page. Sometimes it’s burnout from grinding too hard (Excuse Me), sometimes it’s a reminder to keep going (See It Through), and sometimes it’s pure humor (Love Means Sweatpants). The lyrics are always the heartbeat — the story that everything else is built around.
Building the Sound
Using FL Studio, the foundation comes alive — punk-driven drum beats, bass lines, and piano melodies that blend the grit of 90s punk with the hooks of early 2000s pop. It’s DIY at its core, but polished enough to punch through your speakers.
Recording Vocals
Vocals are tracked in Audacity, raw and unfiltered at first, but always loaded with emotion. Every scream, whisper, and chorus is shaped to capture the honesty of the moment — even if it’s messy, because life is messy too.
Mixing & Layering
Once the instrumentals and vocals are built, they’re blended together in Audacity, balancing each piece until it feels like a living, breathing track. This is where the emotion of the lyrics meets the energy of the music.
AI Collaboration
This is where the future steps in. With Suno, raw vocals are transformed into a band-like performance that captures the sound in the songwriter’s head. AI doesn’t replace creativity — it amplifies it. The soul is still human; the tools just help it hit harder.
Final Touch — Mastering the Sound
When the music is finished, stems are exported and run through Moises for final mixing and mastering. This ensures every track is balanced, powerful, and ready to sit alongside any record — from underground punk playlists to polished pop-punk hits.

Think about it: in the 90s, punk bands recorded on cheap four-tracks in their bedrooms because that’s what they had. Today, we have DAWs, AI tools, and platforms that can push independent artists further than ever before. In my opinion using them isn’t “cheating.” It’s keeping the DIY spirit alive — just with new instruments.

Lots of bands write about pain, struggle, anger, or nothing at all. Well… I do too — but I do what i can to always land on a positive note. Even when a song dives deep into darkness, the outro leaves you with a spark of light.
